When the camera detects a speed limit sign, it will be displayed on the driver visualization in the car and used to set a speed limit warning, according to the software release notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"DLiySU\">The latest software update also adds to its traffic light and stop sign control features, and will sound a chime when your Tesla is sitting at a stoplight that turns green. It\u2019s only intended as a notification so it\u2019s up to the driver to decide whether and when to actually move the car forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"kzVY3T\">In April, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/4\/27\/21238637\/tesla-cars-traffic-light-stop-sign-control-feature-self-driving\">Tesla rolled out a software update in beta for its newer cars<\/a> to allow them to see and respond to stop signs and traffic lights at some intersections. The \u201cTraffic Light and Stop Sign Control\u201d feature was made available to Tesla vehicles with the \u201cfull self-driving\u201d version of Autopilot, and when activated, slows the car to stop for stoplights and stop signs. It requires the driver to take action \u2014 either tapping the accelerator or pulling the Autopilot stalk\u2014 before the car can move forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"e0qhXw\">Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1071845439140327424\">teased a development version<\/a> of the Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control feature back n 2018, saying \u201cYour Tesla will soon be able to go from your garage at home to parking at work with no driver input at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"XQpEjO\">But even though Tesla calls that version of Autopilot \u201cfull self-driving\u201d and despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2019\/4\/22\/18510828\/tesla-elon-musk-autonomy-day-investor-comments-self-driving-cars-predictions\">CEO Elon Musk\u2019s promises<\/a> to have fully autonomous Teslas by this year, it\u2019s not there yet. Teslas still need humans behind the wheel.
